Welcome to #TheDeeClutteredHome!

A Series of Snapshots into My Own Home Organizing Journey

"A house is built of walls and beams, a home is built of love and dreams."

Hey All!

In my last blog post I talked a little bit about the things that had been keeping me too busy to really keep up with blogging - namely, working on the redesign of the DeeCluttered website. But another HUGE distraction was the purchase of my first home! While my first year of homeownership has been a great experience, it has also been a lot of work since my house was a bit of a fixer. Not really fixer-upper like you’d see on one of those HGTV house flipping shows, but the ‘look’ in the house before was definitely not my taste at all so I’ve been making a lot of changes. Think painting and changing fixtures vs. knocking down walls.

I’ve finally gotten things to a point where I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. But there’s still work to be done and I thought it would be fun to share some of my organizing-related projects as I push towards finishing everything up. And so starts #TheDeeClutteredHome series!

My hope is that through this series I can share practical inspiration - things that look great and can easily work in your home too. The color scheme may be different or my style may not be yours, but hopefully these projects will be things that can help you establish effective organizing systems in your space. Now fair warning, everything in this series may not work for everybody. But the beauty of organizing is that it’s very personal and very flexible. Most ideas shared in #TheDeeClutteredHome series will be something that can be adapted to fit your space, your personality, and your preference.

I have an idea of the first few projects/areas I’ll be sharing to kick the series off, but feel free to leave requests and suggestions in the comments on this post if there are certain things you’d like to see. Chances are, I either have it on my list of in-progress projects or have it as something on my to-do list. You may even inspire me to organize something I hadn’t thought about...and if you do, gold star to you because that’s hard to do! 😂
